General Information

What's the difference between the laser treatments?

Each laser targets different concerns and skin depths. Some focus on surface pigmentation and redness, others rebuild collagen in deeper layers, and our most advanced options do both simultaneously. During your consultation, we'll match the right technology to your skin goals.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on your concerns and the treatment intensity you choose. Some advanced lasers can deliver dramatic results in just one to two sessions, while others work best as a series of three to five treatments for optimal results. During your consultation, we'll create a personalized plan that balances your goals, timeline and comfort level.

Am I too young/old for laser treatments?

There's no perfect age; it's about your skin concerns. Patients in their 20s often treat acne scarring or preventative aging, while those in their 30s and beyond target sun damage and wrinkles. We customize treatments for every age and stage of skin health.

How are lasers different from facials or chemical peels?

Lasers deliver precise energy to specific skin layers, creating controlled responses that trigger natural healing and collagen production. While facials and peels work on the surface, lasers can target deeper concerns with longer-lasting, more dramatic results.

Treatment Process

What happens during my first visit?

We'll analyze your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and recommend a personalized treatment plan. We'll also review your medical history and current skincare routine to help choose the safest, most effective approach.

How should I prepare for my laser treatment?

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for two weeks before treatment. Stop using retinoids three to five days prior. Come with clean skin: no makeup, lotions or sunscreen. We'll provide specific pre-treatment instructions based on your chosen laser.

What does the treatment feel like?

Sensations range from warm tingling to rubber band snaps, depending on the laser intensity. We keep you comfortable with cooling technology and can apply numbing cream for more intensive treatments. Most patients are surprised it's more comfortable than expected.

Aftercare & Results

Will I need downtime?

Downtime varies by treatment intensity. Some lasers have no downtime, where you might just see temporary darkening of pigmented spots that flake off naturally. More intensive treatments can cause up to a few days of redness and a sunburn-like feeling. You may experience bronzing and peeling for two to five days as your skin renews. We'll discuss what to expect with your specific treatment plan.

Can I wear makeup after my treatment?

This depends on your treatment. Some lasers allow immediate makeup application, while others require waiting 24 to 48 hours. We'll provide detailed aftercare instructions and can recommend gentle products for your healing skin.

When will I see results?

Initial improvements often appear within one to two weeks as dark spots fade and skin texture smooths. The real magic happens over two to three months as your body produces new collagen. Full results continue developing for up to six months.

How long will my results last?

With proper sun protection and skincare, results can last years. Many patients maintain their results with annual touch-up treatments. We'll create a long-term plan to keep your skin looking its best.

Considerations

Is laser treatment safe for darker skin tones?

Yes, with the right laser selection. Some of our devices are specifically safe for all skin types. During your consultation, we'll assess your skin and choose treatments that minimize any risk of hyperpigmentation.

What are the risks or side effects?

Temporary redness, swelling and peeling are normal and expected. Rare risks include hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation or scarring, which is why choosing an experienced provider matters. Our precise techniques and proven protocols minimize these risks.

Can I get laser treatments if I have melasma?

Melasma requires special consideration, as some lasers can trigger flare-ups. We have specific protocols and laser settings for melasma patients. Combined with proper skincare and sun protection, we can achieve significant improvement.

Who should avoid laser treatments?

Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections, are on Accutane or have certain medical conditions should wait. Recent tans or sunburns also mean postponing treatment. We'll review your full medical history to ensure you're a good candidate.
