The Halo™ Laser Treatment

Discover a new radiance with the Halo laser treatment—a hybrid fractional laser built for all skin types.

How it Works

The Halo laser has two distinct wavelengths—ablative and non-ablative which target skin concerns on multiple levels.

The non-ablative laser tightens and improves your skin texture by heating columns of collagen deep in your skin. It removes pigmentation and coagulates the blood vessels which will cause redness while your skin is healing. During the healing process, your skin will replace the coagulated dermal tissue with new tissue which will improve skin thickness, fine lines and wrinkles, combat sagging, large pores, and unwanted pigmentation. Due to its customizable features, it can also target acne scars by dialing the depth of the laser to target the skin closer to the surface.

The ablative laser is used to exfoliate dead skin cells on the skin’s top layer to bring out new skin cells to give your skin a more youthful appearance. This laser removes superficial sun damage and pigmentation. It can also reduce the number of abnormal cell types that could form dangerous skin lesions later on.

The goal of the Halo Laser is to achieve the best results with as little downtime as possible to get you feeling and looking younger in less time!

The Halo™ laser treatment is a more comfortable procedure with less downtime than typical fractional resurfacing treatments.

Within a few days, most patients can resume their regular activities with no heavy or time-consuming post-care. While you will experience mild swelling and redness, it will subside within three to four days.

With the Halo™ laser—there’s no need to wait multiple treatments or weeks to see results. You can see noticeable results within days and continued improvement of your results over time.

What to Expect

Pre-Treatment

We always start all our patients with a consultation to understand and recommend the best treatment plan.

On the day of treatment, an anesthetic cream is applied to cleansed skin to numb the treatment area and allow for a more comfortable procedure.

During Treatment

The treatment begins by taking accurate measurements of the targeted area using motion-tracking technology. These measurements allow us to determine the amount of energy that will need to be delivered to each area.

The skin will be cleansed and the patient will be given protective eye shields before treatment begins. After this, the treatment begins.

As the Halo Laser passes over the skin, most people describe the sensation as warm or prickly feeling. To alleviate any discomfort, we use a cooling device that will blow cool air onto the skin during the treatment.

The actual treatment time depends on the personal treatment plan but the typical time is approximately 15 to 30 minutes.

Post-Treatment

Immediately after the Halo™ Laser Treatment is over, most people report a feeling similar to a bad sunburn but it typically will only last from 30 minutes to an hour.

Post-treatment balm and SPF will be applied to the treated skin to start the healing process. Then we will walk the patient through the aftercare as well as give them written instructions to refer back to.

What to Expect

Day 1-2

The first couple of days after treatment, you may notice swelling and redness in the area that has been treated. To minimize swelling, we recommend sleeping propped up. You may find that you are sensitive to heat and have a reaction to certain products. You should wash your face with a mild cleanser and use cold or lukewarm water as well as avoiding hot showers for the time being.

During this time you will also start to see some tiny, dark spots in the treated area that is known as MENDs (Microscopic Epithelial Necrotic Debris). These spots are sections of the treated skin being removed that will be replaced by healthy new skin.

Day 3-5

During this time you may experience a tight or dry sensation with your skin. Some people describe their skin as feeling like sandpaper during this phase. Some common symptoms may be flaking of the dry skin, seeing more MENDs appearing, and some breakouts which can be managed with topical antibiotic cream if required. You should notice the redness of your skin reducing and continuing to improve as time goes on. We recommend you continue to apply a simple moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.

Day 6-7

You should begin to see early results during this time period. Your skin may appear to have a luminosity or glow—or as we like to call it, the ‘Halo Glow’.

You might continue to notice dryness and slight flaking of the skin, but it should subside shortly.

2-3 Months

It is during this time you will see the full effect of your Halo Treatment. Your skin will appear smoother, brighter and more youthful with a reduction in your problem areas such as pigmentation, redness, and pore size among others. Your results will only continue to improve as your body produces more collagen and elastin which will plump your skin.

One-Year

At this time, we recommend you consult for another Halo Laser Treatment. The results from your first treatment can last for many years but follow-up treatments will continue to benefit your skin’s appearance. Yearly maintenance appointments allow us at the Vega Med Spa to ward off signs of aging from reappearing.

FAQs About the Halo™ Laser Treatment

What results can I expect after a Halo™ laser treatment?

Depending on your personalized treatment plan, the Halo™ laser treatment can produce a variety of results. Results from this treatment can be seen as soon as 1 week after treatment with maximum results appearing 2-3 months post-treatment.

During the treatment, our Halo Laser passes over the targeted area of your skin and delivers ablative and non-ablative lasers to penetrate your skin and promote new skin cell development.

Many patients describe the Halo laser as feeling a warm or prickly sensation as the laser passes over.

On average, most people are able to return to normal activities within 3-5 days after their treatment.

You will be able to see results from your Halo™ treatment as early as 6-7 days into the healing process but maximum results are seen 2-3 months after the procedure.

Results may vary but many are able to see the impact of the treatment for years to come. However, we recommend yearly maintenance to sustain your ‘Halo Glow.’
