How Radiesse and Sculptra Treatments Help Boost Collagen

As we age, our bodies undergo a lot of changes. We tend to lose fat in our faces. The elasticity in our skin that gives us the youthful bounce and glow diminishes. Ultimately our collagen production slows down, allowing for fine lines and wrinkles to develop. Luckily for us, there are treatments such as Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse that stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin.

First Radiesse, which is a calcium-based filler, is diluted, converting the product into a spreadable bio-stimulator capable of skin remodeling. This allows for some softening and smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles and improvement in the skin’s texture. It can be used on the face or body areas. It may take 2-4 treatments spaced out 4-6 weeks to reach desired results. Recommended, yearly or every other year for maintenance treatment to maintain the desired outcome.

Sculptra is not a filler. It is a bio-stimulator. This product is so versatile we often refer to it as the “fertilizer for your face.” Sculptra treatments are used to help stimulate collagen production. Collagen production starts to slow down in our 30s, so this is a treatment good for all ages, whether you are looking to turn back time or use it as a preventative. One vial of Sculptra is recommended per decade of life. These treatments are spaced about every 4 to 6 weeks, with optimal results achieved 3 months after your final treatment. Results can last a couple of years, depending on the patient and desired outcome. But maintenance treatments can be scheduled at any time (typically every other year is normal, but this depends on your desired result).
